Futuristic Phaeno opens in Wolfsburg

Just a few days ago, on November 25th the Phaeno Science Centre was opened by the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Christian Wulff, and its architect, Zaha Hadid. It is praised as Germany’s largest science centre with an surface area of 9,000 square meters. The heavy price of this municipal investment: 79 million Euros. Quite gutsy considering the empty tills in most communities. Even the support of some well-known companies didn’t help a lot. And unlike the investment, the expected number of visitors is rather modest: only 180,000. In the next edition EAP, we’ll be bringing you more detailed news on “Phaeno.” (eap)
