USA: World Waterpark Association Organizes Virtual WWA Show 2020

The 40th anniversary edition of the “WWA Show“ – the global waterpark industry education, trade and networking event, which is organized by the World Waterpark Association on an annual basis – will take place in the form of a virtual event this year as an alternative to the originally planned in-person WWA show in Las Vegas/Nevada.

From October 6th to 8th, water park industry professionals are invited to participate in the online education and networking program, which will include seminars, open discussions and chat opportunities. On Monday, Oct 5th, the virtual event will start with the optional “WWA University“ module on waterpark design, development and expansion. The main program will run from Tuesday to Thursday, during which a range of experienced industry experts will talk about current trends and developments in the waterpark business, including as speakers: Megan Fulbright (Manager of Operations, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor), Neva Heaston (Senior Manager Private Destinations, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.), Brian Szydloski (Waterpark Director, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions), Söhret Pakis (Marketing & Communications Director, Polin Group) and George Sells (Director Creative Studio, Water Technology Inc.).

With “Connect & Chat“ the virtual WWA show will offer a platform for industry networking, for questions related to topics such as safety, marketing, operations or human resources there will be several “Ask the Experts“ open chat opportunities. Manufacturers and suppliers can be listed on the WWA website so that virtual show visitors can request individual virtual meetings.

“Cancelling the in-person portion of this year’s show was not what we had hoped for, but like so many of our members, we’ve continued to adapt to challenges as they arise,” said Rick Root, President, World Waterpark Association. “We’re excited about the opportunities that a virtual show experience offers to our members. This virtual format will allow everyone, regardless of their location, to safely participate in our educational sessions and spend time connecting with each other through our online networking opportunities.”
