(eap) Thrill-seekers, beware of the bull! For its 65th anniversary next year, Six Flags Over Texas has announced a major new addition, underlining its self-proclaimed title as the “Thrill Capital of Texas.” In 2026, the amusement park in Arlington plans to open “Tormenta Rampaging Run,” a coaster described as a “Giga Dive Coaster” with bullfighting theming, which is expected to set six international records. The ride, commissioned from the Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), is planned to be the tallest (94.2 m), fastest (140 km/h), and longest (around 1.28 km) of its kind worldwide, and the first installation of this coaster type. In addition, the attraction is expected to feature the tallest vertical coaster loop (54.6 m), the tallest Immelmann inversion (66.4 m), and the tallest 95-degree beyond vertical drop (86.9 m). The new coaster is scheduled to be built in the park’s Spanish-themed area as part of a newly developed village called “Rancho de la Tormenta,” which will also house the new “Cocina Abuela” restaurant.

“Six Flags Over Texas has always been a leader in creating unforgettable experiences, and with Tormenta Rampaging Run we are soaring to new heights,” said Mark Boyer, VP and Park Manager for Six Flags Over Texas. “This coaster is a true testament to our commitment to providing world-class thrills and innovation, and we can‘t wait to bring this historic ride to life in 2026.”

“As the world’s first giga dive coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run introduces a completely new ride category, blending giga coaster heights with the fun and thrill of a dive coaster,” said Sophie Bolliger, President of Bolliger & Mabillard, consulting engineers and designers of the coaster. “This level of innovation sets new standards for the theme park industry and our company is honored to be part of this historic moment with Six Flags.” ■
