On an area of 58,000 square feet (over 5,000 square meters) rises the 50 feet (more than 15 meter) tall play structure, which features seven kid-friendly water slides, numerous play elements, and a large tipping bucket with a capacity of 1,000 gallons (over 3,700 liters) of water. Splash Island is aimed at children 42 inches (around 107 cm) and under as well as their families. For the youngest guests, there are also six colorful slides – including mini-tornado and mini-wave slides – as well as a splash pad with water sprayers and fountains.
“Splash Island was designed with our families in mind. It provides tons of fun for kids and parents alike, and a place for everyone to relax in the nearby cabanas while they savor our new food and beverage offerings,” said Hurricane Harbor Park Manager Heather Blair. “We can’t wait to be part of the cherished memories that guests of all ages will come to experience at Hurricane Harbor and Splash Island.”
In addition to Splash Island, guests of all ages can enjoy further innovations in the park, including new double-decker family cabanas, modernized restrooms, themed murals, and a fresh appearance throughout the park. There is also a novelty in the gastronomic area: The completely redesigned “Smokehouse on the Water” now serves freshly in-house smoked brisket and pulled pork, complemented by side dishes such as mac & cheese, salad, and cornbread. ■
