“Barracuda Strike”: SeaWorld San Antonio Announces New Coaster for 2026
(eap) SeaWorld San Antonio has announced a new family thrill ride for 2026: “Barracuda Strike” is the name of the new attraction, which will bring an exciting suspended roller coaster (from B&M) to the Texas marine animal theme park. According to the park, this will be the first inverted family coaster in the state. The family-friendly ride is designed to thrill guests along the 548.6-meter (1,800 feet) track with speeds of up to 70.8 km/h (44 miles per hour), sharp turns, exciting descents (including the 27.4-meter/90 foot lift hill), and the exhilarating feeling of gliding over the park's water ski lake with their feet dangling in the air. Guests must be at least 106 centimeters (42 inches) tall to ride.
“Barracuda Strike is a game-changer for family thrill rides, and we are excited to bring another great roller coaster to our guests in the spring of 2026,” said Jeff Davis, SeaWorld San Antonio Park President. “It will be fast, fierce, and fun – bringing guests closer to the ocean’s energy and mystery in a way only SeaWorld can.”
While visitors to SeaWorld San Diego in California will be able to get up close with sharks in the refreshed “Shark Encounter” exhibit in 2026, sister park SeaWorld Orlando in Florida will be getting a new dark ride attraction next year. ■
