“Dønnervind”: World Premiere at Freizeitpark Plohn
(eap) Thunder, stormy winds and a good dose of adrenaline: The new water coaster “Dønnervind” opened today at Freizeitpark Plohn. To mark its 30th anniversary, the German amusement park has given itself a special anniversary present with this major new attraction. The world’s first Multi Launch Water Coaster from Mack Rides catapults guests from a standing start across the water and takes them along a track more than 500 metres long through dynamic curves, splashy drops and rapid changes of direction. For Freizeitpark Plohn, the attraction also represents the largest single investment in the park’s history.

“With Dønnervind, we are fulfilling a dream that just a few years ago no one would have believed possible. The fact that a genuine world first is being created here in the Vogtland region, of all places, makes us incredibly proud. At the same time, this investment is a clear commitment to our home region, our guests and the future of Freizeitpark Plohn,” says the park-owning Völkel family.
