(eap) The Saudi capital Riyadh has gained a new attraction: a new flight simulation experience has recently opened in the “Boulevard City” district. The attraction is called “Flying Over Saudi” and is a flying theater of the “i-Ride” model by Taiwanese manufacturer Brogent Technologies. With a capacity of 90 guests per “flight”, the installation is said to be the largest of its kind in the Middle East to date.

It features a 26-meter dome screen and, according to the manufacturer, the “world’s first 8K projection system designed specifically for flying theaters”. This high image resolution is intended to ensure a high-quality visual presentation of the approximately seven-minute film, which showcases Saudi Arabia’s scenic highlights and cultural landmarks through unique aerial footage. The synchronized movement of the gondola units in line with the flight action, along with additional special effects such as wind, mist, and scent, complete the immersive staging.

Beyond its 8K visuals, the experience uses distinctive cinematography and multi-sensory storytelling to create a deep emotional connection to Saudi Arabia’s landscapes. Visitors can feel as if they are walking alongside pilgrims in Mecca, experiencing the atmosphere through sound, scent, and subtle motion, creating a truly memorable and emotionally engaging journey,” says Emad Aleisa, CEO of Takwenat, a Saudi company which is specialized in engineering and services related to the preservation and rehabilitation of historic buildings and sites.

Chih-Hung Ouyang, Chairman of Brogent, states: “The opening of Flying Over Saudi reflects the growing demand for premium, technology-driven immersive attractions across the Middle East. This project demonstrates how flying theater platforms can blend advanced ride systems with cinematic storytelling, offering a landmark experience that connects culture, tourism, and entertainment across the region.” ■
