“Hooghmoed": Efteling's New Drop Tower Trio Ready to Ride

Hooghmoed is located near the “Baron 1898” roller coaster and ties in with the attraction's story.

(eap) At Efteling, courageous chimney sweeps are now in demand: Last weekend, the Dutch theme park opened its new family attraction “Hooghmoed”, whose storyline ties in with the world of the park’s “Baron 1898” Dive Coaster, which opened in 2015. According to the storyline, “Baron Gustave Hooghmoed” is searching for gold and needs the help of his miners. Guests support the work in the gold smeltery – taking on the role of chimney sweeps.

The three towers are located around a 14.5-metre-high chimney, very close to the popular rollercoaster. Each of the three towers is twelve meters high and features its own ride programme lasting around 1.5 minutes. A total of 30 passengers can be accommodated per ride. The maximum drop height is six metres. The attraction is aimed primarily at younger guests and is available for guests from a height of 90 centimetres. Sound, fog and smoke effects accompany the ride and underscore the attraction’s storyline.

Hooghmoed also contributes to a broader range of attractions for younger thrill-seekers in this area of Efteling,” says Efteling CEO Fons Jurgens.
