“Magicaluna” Celebrates Premiere at the Efteling Theater
(eap) At Efteling, visitors have been able to immerse themselves in a fantastical dream world since last Friday: With the new illusion show “Magicaluna”, an approximately 20-minute, non-verbal production has celebrated its premiere at the Efteling Theater. The show was created in collaboration with the production company Magus Utopia and is aimed at the family audience.
At the center of the story is the girl Luna, who decides on the evening before her birthday to leave her childhood behind. She tidies her room and stores away all her old toys, including Jokie, the doll she received from her grandmother. That night, something unexpected happens. While Luna sleeps, so-called dream builders appear and, with enchanting tricks, transform her room into a grand dream spectacle. Luna awakens and is amazed again and again. Toys that move as if alive, shadows that guide her, and illusions that take her into a world full of imagination. During this magical journey, Luna rediscovers a feeling she had almost lost: her sense of wonder.
“This dreamlike illusion show allows our guests to experience wonder in an entirely new way at Efteling. With this, we are enriching our entertainment offering and maximising the use of the Efteling Theatre in the coming months. Magicaluna is full of surreal illusions that will amaze our guests and conveys an important life lesson: you are never too old to dream,” explains Nicole Scheffers, Director Park & Resorts at Efteling.
The new show will be staged three times daily at the Efteling Theater through November 8, 2026, and is accessible free of charge for park guests. A visit is recommended for children aged six and above. ■
