“Only Flying Is Better”: Pumpkin World Opens Its Doors in Oskarshausen
(eap) Autumn is gradually arriving at Europe’s leisure and amusement parks. At Oskarshausen near Dresden (Germany), visitors can once again discover a huge pumpkin world featuring XXL sculptures made from more than 50,000 pumpkins, starting today. This year, “Kürbishausen” has the motto of “Only Flying is Better.“ Accordingly, motifs such as a giant eagle built entirely from pumpkins await guests.

In addition, offerings such as a learning unit on pumpkin knowledge with 99 varieties, seasonal pumpkin dishes and snacks, an autumn market, as well as a decoration and creative shop for souvenirs are designed to attract visitors. A special surprise also awaits in the indoor area… Pumpkin World will be open until November 16 – with the exception of a short period in mid-September due to a local city festival.
Those in search of even more autumn and Halloween flair can also explore the new children’s spooky maze, recently opened in Oskarshausen under the name “Labyrinth of the Eternal Fiesta” (c.f. EAP news of 11 July 2025). ■
