(eap) From today, 15 October, visitors to the Westfield London shopping centre can immerse themselves in an extraordinary parallel world: With “Absurd City”, British operator Wake The Tiger has opened its second immersive attraction. The creative team behind the Boomtown Fair festival in Hampshire and the Wake The Tiger Amazement Park® “Dream Factory” in Bristol has now brought its largest project to date to life.

Spanning 80,000 square feet (approximately 7,400 square metres), the imaginative cityscape has been brought to life by hundreds of artists and creatives. Five distinct districts invite visitors to explore the surreal world at their own pace – from a bustling shopping district and a colourful hub of creativity to an underground hideout for hackers. Numerous interactive installations, hidden rooms and surprising details combine art, storytelling and technology to create a fully immersive experience.
“We’ve spent years imagining what a city with absolutely no rules could look like, and now people can finally step inside it. Every district has its own personality, its own stories and its own surprises, and there’s an incredible amount of detail waiting to be discovered. Hundreds of brilliant artists, makers and creative minds have helped bring this world to life, and what’s most exciting is that no two people will experience it in quite the same way. We can’t wait to see what London makes of it,” said Luke Mitchell, Chief Creative Officer und Co-Founder of Wake The Tiger.
Graham MacVoy, CEO and Co-Founder of Wake The Tiger, added: “Opening Absurd City in London is a huge moment for Wake The Tiger. What started as a creative idea in Bristol has grown into an extraordinary 80,000 sq. ft. world in the heart of the capital. But beyond the scale and spectacle, this is about creating somewhere people can escape the everyday, reconnect with their imagination and experience something genuinely different together. We want people to leave feeling inspired, curious and perhaps looking at the world around them a little differently.” ■
