(eap) Adventure Coast in Southport on England’s north-west coast, which opened in the early 1910s and is today managed by owner Norman Wallis, is currently undergoing a phase of transformation. After the park, previously known as Southport Pleasureland, has presented itself under a new name since last season, guests have also been able to visit the site free of charge since this year and pay for the use of the various rides and experience offerings according to the “pay-as-you-go” principle. Also new this year is an approximately 50-metre-high Ferris wheel, which will now help shape the park’s silhouette and offer panoramic views of Southport and the coast.

In order to further optimise its operational processes and improve the visitor experience, Adventure Coast is now also using a fully cloud-based, cashless management system. This is the “Nexxus” platform from international software company Semnox Solutions, which creates a cashless ecosystem in the park and thereby speeds up transactions. The delivered solution comprises four POS stations, 40 handheld terminals for ride access, and integrated payment processing via Dutch service provider Adyen. In addition, the platform is said to offer the flexibility to add further functions, including online ticketing, self-service kiosks, and integrated operational processes for food and beverage and retail. ■
