(eap) A few days ago, Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada, the water park near Madrid operated by Parques Reunidos, kicked off its season. Today, the park officially opens its new main attraction: the “Kilauea” water coaster.

The ride is based on the RocketBLAST model from Canadian manufacturer ProSlide. It combines classic slide elements with water propulsion powered acceleration and uphill sections to create a dynamic riding experience. In addition, ProSlide has also integrated several of its FlyingSAUCER elements. On the track, which according to the park is 180 meters long and seven meters high, guests ride in four-person boats through a total of four acceleration sections, reaching a maximum speed of up to 35 km/h.

The Hawaiian-style water coaster was built in a new themed area called “Mana Nui”, which also features relaxation areas. Further details about the new water attraction can be found in our upcoming EAP magazine issue 4/2026, which will be released on 1 July. ■
