Austria: Eurothermen With Positive Results Despite Crisis

Austrian thermal bath operator Eurothermen recently announced that the company has increased its sales with its three locations Bad Schallerbach, Bad Ischl und Bad Hall. Between July and August 2021, the three thermal bathing destinations welcomed over 330,000 visitors, which corresponds to an increase of 15 percent to the past financial years. In the accommodation department Eurothermen gained increased sales of 30 percent, too. The operator sees the constant investments during the last couple of years, such as the development of the new “Aquapulco“ pirate area at EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach (see EAP 5/2019) as a reason for the positive numbers.

“We are looking back on an incredible season. After some difficult months of lockdown, our guests have thankfully confirmed to us how much we are on trend with our offers and how much they appreciate our quality of service,“ said Dir. Mag. Patrick Hochhauser, general manager of Eurothermen.

“The successful comeback of tourism in Upper Austria, especially of the Eurothermen, keeps us confident for the autum season. The record summer and also the 3-step plan presented by the federal government lead us to expect a successful autumn for spa facilities,“ added Markus Achleitner chariman of Energie AG Oberösterreich and state councilor of economy & tourism for the Upper Austria state.
