(eap) Germany’s Bayern-Park in Fellbach (Lower Bavaria) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. On the occasion of the anniversary, visitors can look forward to several new offers, including a new show arena, various special events and a new ride. “It is wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which our guests have started the new season. It is precisely this joy that has defined Bayern-Park for 35 years and that we would like to pass on in the anniversary year with many new ideas and experiences,” explains Managing Director Silke Holzner.

A first novelty becomes hearable already at the entrance area: a new welcome melody greets visitors. In addition, a new show arena has been created, which can be used for various events in the future. It is located on the site of the former bird of prey show. Furthermore, the “Animal Discovery Tour” has been revised, in which children can explore the park’s animal world in a playful way together with ranger Gustl. As a souvenir, participants receive a “Junior Ranger Certificate”.

A central highlight will follow at Whitsun with the opening of the new ride “Fürstenwalzer” (Princely Waltz), a Sundancer attraction type by the Austrian manufacturer Sunkid. The attraction thematically reflects the elegance of a courtly dance and combines it with a dynamic ride experience: while the gondola is guided along the track, it additionally rotates around its own axis and swings outward with increasing speed. Riders can influence the direction of rotation and intensity themselves – from a calm “waltz ride” to a more thrilling variant. The installation features one gondola and thus has a theoretical capacity of 160 people per hour.

The anniversary programme is complemented by two special event formats. Firstly, the “Gschaftlertag” in May, a day during which young visitors are given the opportunity to take on the role of a ride operator and gain behind-the-scenes insights. Young season pass holders can apply in advance. In addition, the premiere of a “long summer night” is scheduled for 1 August 2026, when the park will remain open until the late evening hours. A programme featuring live bands, street performers, additional shows and interactive activities is planned. ■
