(eap) The Swiss amusement park Conny-Land in Lipperswil (Canton of Thurgau) is planning to build a new major attraction called “Massai”. The ride is set to be a Big Dipper coaster from Mack Rides. According to information provided by the operator, Massai is planned to become the longest, fastest and highest rollercoaster in Switzerland – and at the same time the only one in the country with a LSM launch.

The planned track length is 500 metres, while the coaster will reach a height of 22 metres. Acceleration will be provided by LSM technology, with up to 4.4G, or 24 m/s, and a top speed of 86 km/h. Two vehicles are planned, each seating eight passengers.

The attraction will receive an African-inspired design with traditional huts, figures and masks. As Owner Roby Gasser told EAP, the investment sum will be at around 20 million Swiss francs (around 21.8 million euro). An exact opening date for the new rollercoaster has not yet been set. ■
