Denmark: Fatamorgana Tower Ride at Tivoli Gardens Adds Thrilling New Feature

The 3-in-1-tower ride “Fatamorgana” opened in Denmark’s Tivoli Gardens in 2016 (see EAP news f. 18 Apr 2016) – a Condor 2G Tower from Huss Park Attractions with two different gondola types for more leisurely and faster riding fun as well as a kiddie bumper ride at the bottom of the ride – was upgraded for the 2019 season with an additional tilting effect on the seats for even more thills. The 45-meter high tower ride, which has become a landmark of the park since its opening, has already welcomed over a million passengers.

From now on, the large, round gondolas, in which the view of the passengers is directed to the outside and which up to 2.5g can be experienced during the journey, have a vertical tilting function now. While the gondola rim is rotating, the seats with the guests incline slightly forward so that their gaze is directed towards the ground. The rotational speed of these gondolas has also been increased. The less wild version of Fatamorgana, the gondolas for two persons in a lions and Oryx design, still rotate at a family-friendly speed.

This year alone the park is investing a total of around 100 million Danish kroner (around 13.4 million euros) in its novelties, including also the renewed “Camel Trail” rollercoaster (Zierer) and the new coaster “Milky Way” (Mack Rides), which will be opened for Christmas this year. (eap)
