Disney Adventure Cruise Ship Starts Its Maiden Voyage

The arrival of the Disney Adventure in Singapore.

(eap) Following last week’s christening ceremony of the “Disney Adventure” in Singapore, the newest and largest ship in the fleet of The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Cruise Line sets sail today on its official maiden voyage. The vessel is the former “Global Dream”, originally built by the now insolvent MV Werften and acquired by the Disney group several years ago before ultimately being completed on behalf of the company at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. After being transferred from Germany to Singapore, the ship was christened there on 3 March. From its home port at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore, Disney Adventure will serve the Southeast Asian market on a long-term basis – a first for the cruise line.

It offers fans across this region an opportunity to immerse themselves in unforgettable ways and create memories that are uniquely Disney,” said Chairman of Disney Experiences and incoming Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, Josh D’Amaro.

On board Disney Adventure, guests will be immersed in stories from the Disney, Pixar and Marvel universes and encounter a range of popular characters. We reported on the ship’s entertainment offering here. With Disney Adventure, the eighth vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet sets sail today, with five additional ships planned to join the fleet by 2031. ■
