(eap) Following Disney Cruise Line’s (DCL) announcement of its next ship, the “Disney Believe”, in spring this year, the cruise operator has now revealed details of the vessel’s entertainment program. The fourth ship in the “Wish” class is scheduled to depart on its maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale in South Florida on 18 December 2027.

Among the new entertainment offerings on board will be the world’s first stage adaption of Disney’s animated film “Encanto”. The musical production “Disney Encanto”, to be performed exclusively at the Disney Believe’s “Walt Disney Theatre”, follows character “Mirabel” on her mission to save her family and their magical home. The production will combine the familiar songs by composer Lin-Manuel Miranda with costumes, sets and traditional dances reflecting Colombia’s cultural diversity. New sets and specially developed special effects are also being created for “Tangled: The Musical”. “Disney Seas the Adventure” will complete the ship’s show program.
A new entertainment venue called “Gazette” will bring the world of the “Zootopia” films on board. During the day, it will offer entertainment for families, while evenings will be reserved for adults. In a new family show, guests will help protagonists “Judy Hopps” and “Nick Wilde” solve a case. The interactive experience “Disney Uncharted Adventure” will allow guests to unlock hidden missions throughout the ship using their mobile devices. The “Hero Zone” sports arena will complement the offering with competitive games for the whole family.

The experience dining offering is also set to grow. At the new restaurant “Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast”, character “Oaken” and his family will welcome guests into a summerhouse courtyard inspired by “Frozen”, with new interpretations of songs from the film accompanying the meal. Further additions will include cafés themed around “Big Hero 6” and “Moana”, as well as themed bars and lounges for adults, including the “Haunted Mansion Parlor” bar. The central “Grand Hall” will also draw inspiration from Moana’s colorful island world.
On the upper decks, the 233-meter long “AquaMouse” water coaster will combine a slide ride with an animated “Mickey Mouse” short film. The aquatic offering will also include seven pools and a sun deck in the family area. A “Toy Story”-themed water play area for younger guests is set to feature a splash zone, a paddling pool and a family water slide.
Among the accommodation highlights will be the “Believe Tower Suite” in the ship’s forward funnel. Spanning almost 186 square meters across two storeys, the suite will accommodate up to eight guests and offer views across the upper decks. Its rooms will be inspired by the different themed areas of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida.
The Disney Believe will offer four- and five-day cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, calling at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. DCL plans to expand its fleet to a total of 13 ships by the end of 2030. ■
