Disney and Florida's Tourism Authority Reach Settlement Agreement

(eap) The Disney Group and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District have settled their legal dispute and reached a settlement agreement. The President of Walt Disney World, Jeff Valle, emphasized that the agreement reached serves the interests of both parties and enables the continuation of investments and the creation of jobs. This ends almost two years of conflict between the two parties, which was triggered by Disney’s criticism of a bill by the Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, which regulates school education on sexual orientation and gender identity in lower primary school classes. As a result, the politician ensured that the self-governing status of the Walt Disney World resort in Florida was restricted. A years-long legal dispute between the parties ensued, which was fortunately resolved with the settlement that has now been reached. ■
