(eap) Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and the accompanying Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum officially opened in the heart of Nashville, the “Music City”, yesterday. Developed in collaboration between the recently deceased country music icon Dolly Parton (†) and her long-standing theme park and hospitality partner Herschend, the hotel, together with the museum created by Dolly Parton Productions, celebrates the singer’s life, career and legacy.
The two new destinations celebrate Dolly Parton’s (†) extraordinary life and legacy.
Centrally located in downtown Nashville, the hotel features 245 rooms and suites, a café and two live entertainment venues, “Jolene’s” and “Parton’s Live”. At Jolene’s, guests can enjoy performances by rising artists alongside cocktails, small plates and desserts. Located on the second floor, Parton’s Live offers a more intimate setting for writers’ rounds, songwriter sessions and showcases by up-and-coming artists.
The Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, which opened at the same time, occupies the entire third floor and covers more than 20,000 square feet (approx. 1,800 square metres). It is intended to be the most comprehensive exhibition dedicated to Dolly Parton to date, offering insights into her life, musical career and legacy. Rare items from Parton’s personal collection, interactive exhibits, multimedia installations and recordings guide visitors through different stages of her life story.
The exhibition’s design and curation were led by Parton’s sister Rachel Parton George and her niece Rebecca Seaver. Two merchandise shops complete the offering. ■
