Dollywood’s Splash Country to Kick off 25th Season this Weekend

(eap) This weekend, Dollywood’s Splash Country in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, will open the gates for its 25th season. Opened in 2001 by U.S. country singer Dolly Parton and located adjacent to the Dollywood theme park, the water park ranks among the larger facilities in the region, featuring around 40 attractions spread across 35 acres (approx. 14 hectares). The anniversary season begins on 10 May with a two-day opening programme, followed by the start of regular daily operation on 17 May.

Visitor highlights in Splash Country include a water coaster, several large slides, a lazy river and water play zones. There is also a large wave pool, where the “Splash Bash Music Series” with live music will once again be organised for this year’s season. In addition to the musical highlights, water park guests can also look forward to a revamped culinary line-up, which includes new dishes such as “Chicken Alfredo Pizza”, “Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tenders” and “Chicken Street Corn Nachos” (read also our latest F&B trend article in EAP 3/2025).

The season at Dollywood’s Splash Country runs through 21 September; daily operation ends on 9 August, after which the park will be open at weekends. Neighbouring theme park Dollywood has already reopened – a major new attraction is set to await visitors there in 2026... (c.f. EAP news from 17 March 2025). ■
