Drowning Prevention: Tropical Islands Passes International Audit

Ertrinkungsprävention auf dem Prüfstand im Tropical Islands

(eap) Tropical Islands, located in Brandenburg and part of the Spanish operator group Parques Reunidos, is the first German leisure resort to successfully pass the Ellis & Associates (E&A) “Aquatic Safety Audit”, conducted by Safety Skills Training (SST). This is an internationally recognized audit by the US consulting firm that assesses the operational readiness of leisure facilities in terms of drowning prevention. The audit was completed by Tropical Islands with an outstanding rating in the areas of emergency response and aquatic management.

The performance review was conducted individually and unannounced to test the real-time monitoring performance and consistency of vigilance within the lifeguard team. Individual and team responses to water rescue emergencies, from the initial alarm to the completion of life-saving measures, were also tested. The audit also included a comprehensive review of all compliance documentation and administrative processes.

“This milestone is a testament to the passion and professionalism of our Aquatics team. Every lifeguard, supervisor, and trainer has dedicated themselves to raising the bar for safety, learning, and teamwork,” said Tropical Islands General Manager Madany Sanyang. “Becoming the first German facility to pass the E&A audit reflects the culture we strive for every day at Tropical Islands: one where we never compromise on guest safety and where we support each other to deliver our very best. With this milestone, Tropical Islands sets a new benchmark for aquatic-safety excellence in Germany and across the Parques Reunidos portfolio.” ■
