Duinrell Anounnces Interactive „Drifter“ Attraction

(eap) The Dutch amusement and holiday park Duinrell has announced another new addition for the coming season alongside its already announced “Kikker8baan”. This will be an attraction of the “Drifter” type, which, like the planned new roller coaster, will also be supplied by the German company Zierer Karussell- und Spezialmaschinenbau.

The “Duinrell Drifter” will feature nine gondolas in the form of cars that travel around a central point along a round track. Each vehicle is equipped with a lever that visitors can operate themselves, allowing them to influence the ride and the drifting effect. The first installation of the interactive Drifter attraction opened last year at the Finnish amusement park Särkänniemi (see EAP News of 30 May 2025).

“After attractions such as the Oude Lijnbaan and the Tobbedanser, we are once again adding an attraction in which visitors themselves have an influence on their ride,” Duinrell states. “That makes the experience interactive and suitable for both children and adults.” The new ride will be installed in the attraction area near “Wild Wings”, “Mad Mill” and the bumper cars.

Renewal work is also being carried out in other areas of the park. The supermarket is being renovated, a new ice cream parlor will be opened, and the playground will receive a new piece of play equipment in the form of a volcano air cushion.

More information about the new developments at Duinrell and other European amusement parks can be found in the EAP Park Report, which will be published in our March/April issue. ■
