Extensive Expansion Measures Announced for Belgium’s Aqualibi Water Park

Belgium’s Aqualibi water park, which belongs to the French Compagnie des Alpes group (CDA) and is located right next to the Walibi theme park in Wavre, will be extensively renovated in the course of this year. A total of 30 million euros will be invested in the expansion of the facility, which will include in particular the creation of four new water slides. In addition, the water park, which was opened in 1987, will be brought up to the latest energy efficiency standards through various measures in order to also make a leap forward in terms of sustainability.

The water park is to be expanded by an area of 1,000 square meters through the construction of a new, approximately 25-meter-high slide tower. Guests can already look forward to four new exciting water slides from ProSlide Technology.

“We are very excited to be able to announce such an investment for our water park! These four state-of-the-art slides all feature elements that are unique in the Benelux – and even in Europe. For example, one of the attractions will allow sliding duels in tubes, which will be transported uphill at high speeds thanks to special water jet technology. This new project is perfectly in line with our ambition to strengthen our position as a reference water park in Belgium, offering a thrilling experience for people of all ages,” says General Manager Jean-Christophe Parent.

While the first phase of the expansion is currently being realized and still runs until 17 February, phase no. two will be carried out from 28 August to 21 December. (eap)
