F&B Trends for the Out-of-Home Market: Internorga Kicks off in Hamburg
(eap) Internorga, the international leading trade fair for hospitality and foodservice, opens today in Hamburg. Over the next five days of the show – until and including Tuesday, 17 March – around 85,000 trade visitors are expected. On the exhibitor side, some 1,200 companies are represented this year, presenting their products, solutions and innovations for the out-of-home market across several halls of Hamburg Messe. Operators of leisure facilities who are looking at creating a modern F&B offering and optimise gastronomic operations are also among the target audience.
In addition to a comprehensive exhibitor directory divided into numerous product categories – e.g. food, restaurant and hotel equipment, digital applications – the trade fair offers an extensive supporting programme consisting of congress events, competitions, networking events and various stage formats.

The latter promise an extra portion of inspiration: the “Open Stage” in Hall A3 serves as a platform for talks and workshops on current industry topics. In the “Deep Dive Area” in Hall B5, trade visitors can attend 30-minute sessions focusing on concrete strategies, tools and best practices. Topics include, among others, how AI, service quality and humanity can be optimally combined.
Trend researcher Karin Tischer from the food & more institute (based in Kaarst, Germany) will speak about trendy national cuisines and best practices in the “Pink Cube”, which is also located in Hall A3. Fresh ideas and young perspectives will be offered by the format “What The Food!” (Hall B5), where current food topics meet developments in the fields of sustainability, new work, innovation and digitalisation.
Nearby (also in Hall B5), innovative foodtech and creative zero-waste solutions take centre stage: the format of “Future Food” is set to bring together innovative and sustainable concepts. Further product novelties can be discovered in the specially created “Newcomers Area”, while the “AI Area” once again provides a dedicated presentation space for start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence.
