Finland: New Ghost Ride Opened at Linnanmäki

Some days ago, Helsinki, Finland’s Linnanmäki amusement park has opened the new haunted ride “Hotelli Kyöpenlinvuori”. According to the storyline, the ride is a hotel operated and inhabited by witches. The new attraction replaces an old ghost train which proved to become uneconomic to maintain. “I am very pleased with our new ride and our guests have received it well. We had to satisfy guests who wanted something new and exciting, and traditionalists who wanted us to keep the old ride they remembered from when they were children,” Anssi Tamminen, Technical Director, said. While Nick Farmer (Farmer Attraction Development) designed and built the complete show, the Italian-based company Gosetto provided new cars and the track/ride system for the new attraction. Laser and video effects as well as traditional scares are part of the show; the ride system is equipped among others with vibration and wind effects. (eap)
