(eap) This morning, the French Compagnie des Alpes (CDA) released its annual results for the 2024/2025 financial year. According to the listed group, the following results were achieved:
- Record revenues of around 1.4 billion EUR, corresponding to an increase of 12.8 percent (8.9 percent on a comparable basis);
- In line with the most recent forecasts, the Group’s EBITDA rose by 16.7 percent (11.9 percent on a comparable basis) to 409 million EUR;

- The “Leisure Parks” business unit recorded EBITDA growth of 23.8 percent (11.9 percent on a comparable basis) to 176 million EUR, resulting in an improved EBITDA margin for the unit, up by one percentage point (to 26.0 percent).
In addition, CDA announced ambitious plans for Germany’s amusement park landscape. By 2030/31, the company intends to transform the Belantis amusement park near Leipzig into the first Parc Astérix outside France – in future, it is set to be officially renamed Parc Astérix Deutschland. In April 2025, CDA had acquired the park from the Spanish operating group Parques Reunidos. While the transformation is expected to take place gradually until 2031, the opening of the first themed area dedicated to the comic character “Idefix”, the dog of Obelix, is already planned for spring 2026. This area will bear the name “Idefix‘ Abenteuerland“. The park, located in a strong catchment area, covers a total area of 80 hectares, 41 hectares of which are available for future expansions.
François Fassier, Director of the Theme Parks Division at CDA, highlights the strategic importance of this initiative: “The progressive transformation of BELANTIS into Asterix Park Germany perfectly reflects the Group’s ability to identify and unlock the potential of the sites it acquires, thanks in particular to the pragmatic expertise of its teams. This first Parc Astérix outside France, which will emerge gradually, also demonstrates the strength of the Astérix brand and its attractiveness. Starting in 2026, several themed areas and attractions faithful to the fantastic universe of Astérix and Obélix will offer every visitor a unique experience.”
In the long term, the operator sees potential for welcoming around 900,000 to one million visitors per year at the site. Since 1959, the cult comics created by René Goscinny and Albert Underzo have sold 400 million copies worldwide, roughly one third of them in German-speaking countries. Germany is considered the second-strongest market for the comic books in terms of sales, following France. ■
