First Wooden Roller Coaster Announced for Czechia
(eap) Czechia’s first wooden roller coaster is to be built at Park Mirakulum in Milovice, in the country’s Central Bohemian Region. The family park, which opened in 2021 and is located not far from Prague, will thus receive a new signature attraction. The as-yet-unnamed coaster will be realized by US company Great Coasters International (GCI). The team at Skyline Attractions, a long-standing partner of GCI, is responsible, among other things, for developing the ride layout.
This is to focus on sustained speed, rapid directional transitions and forceful banking maneuvers. In total, the coaster will feature a track length of 3,335 feet (more than one kilometer) and a maximum height of 107 feet (around 32 meters). During the approximately two-minute ride, speeds of up to 49 mph (79 km/h) are to be reached. Riders will take their seats in GCI’s new “Infinity Flyer” trains, which feature second-generation improvements and can carry up to 24 passengers.

“The goal with the design was to provide a unique headlining attraction that would be fun for both families and thrill-seekers alike,” said Dustin Sloane, Director of Creative Processes at Skyline Attractions. “We wanted to take everything GCI rides are known for and bring it to the next level with a fast, twisted, and airtime filled layout. This compact layout even includes an underground tunnel which the train navigates twice, once right out of the station and again as a grand finale, ensuring maximum fun from start to finish.”
The tunnel is to be around 15 feet (4.7 meters) deep and extend over a cumulative length of 258 feet (78.5 meters). The wooden coaster is scheduled to open in 2027. ■
