France: World’s First “Storm Racer“ Slide at Aqualand Fréjus Now Open

France’s Aqualand Fréjus water park, which is located near the city of Cannes and operated by Spanish Aspro Group, has recently added the new “Storm Racer” slide to its attractions line-up, which is the first installation of this slide type from Turkish manufacturer Polin Waterparks.

The slide experience starts at a height of 24 metres from a tower: In four-person rafts, the sliders rush through a closed tube section with daylight effects at a speed of almost 40 km/h. This section, which spirals downward in a wide arc, leads into an open bowl configuration, where sliders are propelled up a wide, sweeping, curved, vertical slope. This element is followed by another closed section, before the 87-metre-long slide finally ends with a splash basin. Since the new “Storm Racer” slide can be used with several rafts at the same time, the attraction reaches a theoretical capacity of 960 persons per hour. (eap)
