(eap) The Swedish Visit Group, a provider of digital platform solutions for the tourism and leisure market, has announced the acquisition of the Icelandic company GODO. According to the company, the acquisition aims to further strengthen the Group’s position as a leading technology provider in the Nordic region and accelerate growth in strategically important markets.

Founded in Iceland in 2012, Godo specializes in cloud-based software solutions for the hospitality sector. According to the company, more than 2,000 customers in 20 countries already rely on its solutions.

“The acquisition marks a strategic milestone for Visit Group as it reinforces our leadership position in the Nordic region and accelerates our mission to create a unified platform that drives direct sales, cost efficient distribution, operational excellence, and profitability for the hospitality and experience industry,” says Magnus Emilson, Founder & executive chairman of Visit Group.

“GODO is a fantastic addition to the Visit Group family,” said Richard Wiegmann, CEO of Visit Group. “They share our vision, our values, and our commitment to driving growth and innovation for our customers. Together, we will strengthen our offering, expand into new markets, and continue to deliver best-in-class solutions for the industry.”

A central element of GODO is the “Travia” booking platform. According to the provider, this enables direct real-time networking between service providers, travel agencies and tour operators. The aim is to optimize the utilization of tourism offers, simplify contract processes and reduce manual work steps. Integration into the Visit Group ecosystem also opens up additional sales channels, enabling automated, scalable and economically efficient marketing of tourism services.

“We are delighted to become part of Visit Group,” said Sveinn Pálsson, Co-Founder of GODO. “They share our customer-centric vision, and our products complement Visit’s offering superbly. This will accelerate our growth in the Nordics and increase the depth of solutions to our existing clients. Together, we can continue to elevate the guest experience while enabling our customers to boost revenue and operational efficiency.” ■
