Staffordshire’s Alton Towers theme park, operated by Merlin Entertainments Group, has confirmed the redesign of its “Duel” dark ride and revealed the name of the attraction that it will bear after its modernization. “The Curse at Alton Manor” will be the name of the new scary ride, which receives a new steering system from manufacturer Mack Rides and is due to be launched in spring this year – an exact date is still to be announced. According to the park, the dark ride will use special effects and visuals to scare and thrill young and old guests alike.
“Let the countdown begin! The Curse at Alton Manor is no ordinary dark ride. It has all the components of a supernatural tale – it’s dark, compelling and promises some thrilling and scary moments along the way. Fans of eerie rides will certainly appreciate this one – more details on The Curse of Alton Manor will be revealed next month, so stay tuned for what’s to come,” announces Head of Product Excellence at Alton Towers, Kate McBirnie.
