Actually we knew this before: German amusement parks are particularly family-friendly. This was recently proved by an independent customer survey carried out this fall by the analysis and consulting company ServiceValue in cooperation with WELT am SONNTAG newspaper and Goethe University of Frankfurt. Thus, the leisure experts to a large extent contribute to a more family-oriented Germany. “It is our industry’s aim to create offers for the whole family,” says Klaus-Michael Machens, President of the German Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (VDFU).

More than 400 companies from 60 industry sectors were evaluated in the framework of the customer survey. The survey was based on the so-called “Family Experience Score” which comprises, amongst others, factors such as family-oriented employee behavior and additional services for families. German amusement parks have reached first-class results in terms of customer feedback with scores of between 80.9 and 84.8 points for the top ranking companies. This applies to amusement parks, theme parks and zoos equally. The “Top 10 companies 2015 with regard to family friendliness” exclusively include companies from the amusement park industry. Eight of them are VDFU members: Ravensburger Spieleland (gold), PLAYMOBIL-FunPark (silver), Movie Park Germany (bronze) (cf. EAP News from September 12, 2015), Phantasialand, Hannover Adventure Zoo, Sensapolis, Hansa-Park and Erlebnispark Tripsdrill. (eap)
