Germany: Europa-Park Announces Rulantica Reopening – New Details of Future Expansion Revealed

Just after three months of business operation, Europa-Park’s new indoor water world Rulantica, which was opened on November 28th, 2019 (cf. EAP 1/2020), had to close its gates again due to the corona pandemic. Now, again three months later, the Mack family is happy to announce the reopening of the indoor water world on June 10th. During today’s press conference, new details about the waterpark‘s future expansions, especially in the outdoor area, were released.

On a ground surface of some 2,500 square metres on the south side of Rulantica, the new outdoor area, which is already under construction and will celebrate its opening in summer 2021, will include numerous family-friendly water attractions. For the youngest visitors the park will develop the “Snorri Strand“ water play area with waterplay structures and slides. Overall, the new outdoor area will feature 114 waterplay elements. Additionally, the new large-scale “Svalgurok“ waterplay structure will feature nine different slides such as a body funnel slide and a wave slide. The structure will be designed like “Svalgur“, a large twisted snake. Furthermore, Svalgurok will be euipped with a tipping bucket, which will function as a waterfall element.

Also, Rulantica’s indoor area will be expanded with a new quiet zone and wellness area, which will include two new sauna cabins and an outdoor area. (eap)
