Germany: Schloss Dankern Certified as Child- and Family-Friendly

Caroline Freifrau von Landsberg-Velen (rechts) nahm die Auszeichnung entgegen.

Last week the holiday resort Schloss Dankern, located in Western Germany, was certified by Lower Saxony’s ministry of economics with the quality certificate “KinderFerienLand Niedersachsen”. In order to be classified as child- and family-friendly, an independent and qualified assessor examined the facility on the basis of different criteria within the categories service, security and facilities. “The distinction shows that family friendliness plays a fundamental role at Schloss Dankern and it proves that we operate adequately in our daily work,” Caroline Freifrau von Landsberg-Velen comments on the certification. She runs the resort together with her husband Friedhelm Freiherr von Landsberg-Velen. In total Schloss Dankern offers its visitors more than 750 holiday houses and over 200 play, recreational and sports opportunities. Not only leisure and adventure parks but also operators of accommodation and gastronomy facilities have the possibility to be certified. The certificate, which is valid for a period of three years, is awarded by TourismusMarketing Niedersachsen GmbH in cooperation with Lower Saxony’s tourism regions and AG Urlaub und Freizeit auf dem Lande e.V.
