Germany: Tropical Islands Turns 15 – Anniversary Celebrations Start with New Light & Laser Show

Germany’s Tropical Islands (TI) tropical bathing complex located near Berlin celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and kicks off a “birthday event series” with the launch of a new light and laser show entitled “Marama – The Light of the Tropics”, taking guests on a journey through the world’s tropical regions. Premiering today, the new spectacle can be enjoyed by guests on a daily basis after sunset.

Under the direction of Arthur Castro, Leisure and Entertainment Manager at Tropical Islands, and in cooperation with Berlin-based House of North arts and technology company and composer Friedrich Wengler the new show turned out in a 16-minute experience shaped by light and music. A small island in the waterpark’s “South Sea” pool will serve as the projection surface, guests will be able to enjoy the show from a sandy beach in front or during a dinner at the “Palm Beach” restaurant.

“We’d like to take advantage of our anniversary to surprise our guests. This is the reason why kids and adults can look forward to new attractions and offers this year,” explains TI CEO Wouter Dekkers. Recently, Tropical Islands inaugurated its new “Jungle Splash” water play structure for kids (from Polin, cf. EAP 2/19), further additions to the visitor offer will follow later this year, such as a new surfing facility in the 2016 opened “Amazonia” outdoor area (cf. EAP 4/16). Recently, Spanish Parques Reunidos operating group added the tropical holiday resort to its portfolio of leisure attractions (cf. EAP News from Dec 12th, 2018). (eap)
