(eap) Recently, the new HEX Erlebniswelt (HEX Adventure World) was inaugurated in Rothesütte, Thuringia (Nordhausen district), Germany. Its main attraction is expected to be the 70-meter-high observation tower, which the project initiators describe as the “world’s largest witch’s broom”. After three years of construction, the structure with its striking architecture and the associated adventure world near the border with Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt are now open to visitors. According to the operators, a total of around 17 million euros has been invested in the project.

Two adventure slides (supplied by Josef Wiegand) wind their way down from the tower: one carries guests almost 100 meters at high speed, while the other incorporates interactive effects, according to the operator. At a height of 44 meters, visitors can enjoy panoramic views from an observation platform overlooking the Harz forests, with vistas extending as far as the Wurmberg in the Goslar district and the Brocken mountain. At the foot of the tower, an interactive exhibition invites visitors to explore the myths of witches and the local history. Surrounding the building, an adventure area has been created, featuring themed play and climbing elements (by Künstlerische Holzgestaltung Jürgen Bergmann). In addition, the destination is complemented by a restaurant (“Blocksberg”), a snack bar (“Hexpress”), and a souvenir shop (“Zauberladen”) offering regional products. ■
