Groundbreaking for Outdoor Expansion at monte mare Obertshausen

(eap) Groundbreaking for the expansion of the outdoor area at German monte mare Obertshausen (Hesse) officially took place on Monday. A spacious new outdoor zone is scheduled to open in summer 2027, significantly enhancing the offer for both families and recreational swimmers. The central element will be a multifunctional 50-meter pool, designed to accommodate lap swimming and aqua fitness as well as leisure use. Additional features will include a wide family slide leading into the pool, a spray park for children, and an outdoor F&B offering in the form of a beach-style food container. Following the completion of earthworks, the project will proceed with structural construction, installation of water technology, and landscaping of the site.

“With today’s groundbreaking, we are laying the foundation for a modern, versatile leisure offering in Obertshausen,” said Mayor Manuel Friedrich. “The new outdoor area of the leisure pool will become a place for social interaction and relaxation for all generations.” monte mare Managing Director Patrick Doll added: “We are pleased to be implementing, together with the municipal development company, a concept that combines relaxation, sport and fun. The 50-meter pool and the family-oriented attractions represent a major added value for our visitors.”

A total of 5.5 million euro is being invested in the expansion project, including one million euro in funding from the state programme “SWIMplus”. ■
