(eap) From October 23 to 25, the Confertainment Center at Europa-Park once again turned into an experimental field for explorers: This year’s “Science Days” offered visitors of all ages fascinating insights into the world of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM). More than 90 exhibitors presented workshops, interactive stations, and stage shows that invited participants to experiment and marvel. According to the organizer, more than 11,300 people took part in this year’s educational event.
The event was marked by a double anniversary: while the Science Days celebrated their 25th edition, Europa-Park looked back on 50 years of existence this year (see EAP 2/2025). “The Science Days impressively demonstrate how exciting, diverse, and forward-looking science can be. It is particularly important to us to inspire young people to take an interest in STEM subjects and to show them that curiosity, a spirit of discovery, and inventiveness form the basis for innovation and a successful future,” explained Jürgen Mack, owner of Europa-Park.
Among this year’s exhibitors was, for the first time, the ESA (European Space Agency), which offered visitors insights into space projects – from the development of rockets and satellites to the exploration of distant planets. Europa-Park is currently holding talks with the ESA about future cooperation, connected to the development of a new space-themed area and a family coaster by Mack Rides, scheduled to open in 2028.
Marion Gentges, Minister of Justice and for Migration of the State of Baden-Württemberg, also visited the event and expressed her appreciation: “For the 25th time, Europa-Park has turned into a giant laboratory for children and young people, inviting them to experiment and, above all, to marvel. The Science Days offer a great program with a wide range of hands-on activities, fascinating shows, and opportunities to learn about careers and training in the field of natural sciences. As a strong business location, we depend on the inventors and thinkers of tomorrow.”
“The Science Days thrive on participation, wonder, and discovery. It is inspiring every year to see the enthusiasm with which children and young people immerse themselves,” said Mareike Köck, Managing Director of Science & Technologie gGmbH, who also welcomed new partner SEW-EURODRIVE. The company supports the initiative to inspire young people for technical professions and innovation. To mark the 50th anniversary, Science & Technologie gGmbH also presented the Mack family with a special gift: an “eternal garden” – a glass arrangement in which plants thrive in a closed cycle, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and the future. ■
