The result can thus be placed between the previous year’s events in Shanghai (2025) and Bangkok (2024): while the trade show in Shanghai (mainland China) recorded 5,651 buyers, Bangkok saw 3,187 buyers. In 2018, before the Covid-19 pandemic, IAAPA recorded around 6,500 buyers and nearly 400 exhibitors at the Hong Kong trade show location; most recently, the number of exhibitors has ranged between 300 and 360 companies.

Under this year’s theme “Pursue the Wonder”, the Expo encouraged attendees to push creative boundaries, embrace new perspectives and unlock fresh opportunities for growth, the global industry association stated. “What we’ve seen this week is a clear signal of where the industry is headed,” said Jack Chan, Executive Director and Vice President of IAAPA APAC. “Operators and suppliers across Asia-Pacific are embracing creativity, technology, and collaboration to deliver more immersive and memorable experiences. The region continues to be one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving markets for attractions globally.”

IAAPA Expo Asia 2027 will be held from 28 June to 1 July in Osaka, Japan. ■
