IAAPA Expo Day 3: More from the Show Floor

IAAPA Expo Day 3: More from the Show Floor

(eap) Before the IAAPA members who had purchased a ticket for this year’s “IAAPA Celebrates” event were able to enjoy an “epic” evening at Universal’s newest theme park at the end of the third day of the trade show, there were once again all kinds of product innovations and developments to discover on the exhibition grounds of the Orange County Convention Center.

The more than 1,100 exhibiting companies invited industry professionals to learn more about their products and solutions and engage in conversation. Among them was the Romanian company Inowize, which presented its compact multiplayer attraction “QBIX”, in which up to six players can play interactive games simultaneously on three projection surfaces. At the booth of the SBF-VISA Group, Sales and Project Manager Christoph Wunderlich provided information about the diverse portfolio of the Italian attractions manufacturer, including the “Ultra Family Coaster”, which will be introduced at Germany’s new Hofis Erlebnispark theme park in 2026.

The Dutch company iSlide, known for light, sound and projection effects for water slides, presented the new photo system “Waterpark Moments” with wristband connectivity, which is already being used for the first time at the OKANA Resort in Oklahoma City. At the booth of the California-based company Ballast Technologies, water park operators were able to learn about the new addition “Ballast Arcade” – a playful VR application for Ballast Technologies’ “DIVR®” and “VRSlide®” products –, in which guests are encouraged via a scoreboard to surpass the daily high score.

Furthermore, numerous expert presentations and workshops offered opportunities for professional education. Included on Day Three was the EDUSession “EMEA Attractions Market: Trends, Practices, and What Sets It Apart”, in which Lukas Metzger (Head of Operations, Europa-Park), Andy Hygate (Operations Director, Pleasure Beach Resort), Edd Musgrove (Executive Creative Director, Mycotoo) and Bart Dohmen (Managing Partner, TDAC) provided an overview of current trends in the European market for leisure attractions and compared them to the US market.
