Jumanji Becomes an Interactive Dark Ride Experience

(eap) Triotech, the Canadian company specializing in media-based attractions, has announced the introduction of new content for its “XD Dark Ride”. It is based on the world of the fantasy adventure IP “Jumanji” and was developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures and in partnership with Merlin Entertainments. This marks the first internationally established IP to be integrated into the content library of the XD Dark Ride.

“Jumanji is one of the most exciting adventure worlds in modern entertainment, and we are thrilled to bring that energy to XD Dark Ride. Partnering with Sony Pictures to introduce the platform’s first major IP marks an exciting new chapter for us and we can’t wait for guests to experience the adventure firsthand,” says Ernest Yale, Founder and CEO of Triotech.

The film is set to debut initially at selected Madame Tussauds locations operated by Merlin Entertainments. Installations are planned in Sydney, New York, Hollywood, and Las Vegas. Following this, the experience – in which players immerse themselves in a high-risk jungle mission – is expected to become available to XD Dark Ride operators worldwide by the end of summer 2026.

“Operators have been asking for recognizable experiences that truly resonate with today’s audiences. Bringing Jumanji to XD Dark Ride is an exciting step forward and a great example of how interactive attractions can bring beloved worlds to life,” Yale adds. ■
