Karls Döbeln Opens “Bettys Beerchen Boomerang” Coaster

Numerous guests and fans were thrilled to take a maiden ride on the new Family Boomerang Coaster, which of course is entirely dedicated to the strawberry theme.

(eap) Last Saturday, the new family roller coaster “Bettys Beerchen Boomerang” was officially opened at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Döbeln in Central Saxony, Germany. Robert Dahl, founder and owner of Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer, celebrated the debut of the Vekoma Family Boomerang Coaster together with Saxony’s Minister President Michael Kretschmer, Döbeln’s Mayor Sven Liebhauser, District Administrator Sven Krüger, Vekoma Executive Sales Director & Senior Design Engineer Stefan Holtman and further guests. Together, they then took the first ride in front of numerous Karls fans.

An LED wall of more than 80 square meters on the exterior façade shows an AI-animated photograph of Robert Dahl’s mother Elisabeth in her late 30s as a strawberry vendor. A specially composed Boomerang song accompanies the experience. The new “Erdbeercafé Elisabeth” is located on ground-level of the building. Children from a height of 95 centimeters and an age of three years are allowed to ride when accompanied; alone they can ride from a height of 120 centimeters and an age of seven years. The approximately 230-meter-long track is travelled by the train both forwards and backwards, reaching a maximum speed of up to 60 km/h. A roller coaster of the same model will also open at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Elstal near Berlin in a few weeks.

In Döbeln, the new family theater show “Karlchens Zaubergarten” (Karlchen’s Enchanted Garden) also celebrated its premiere this past Saturday. More about the roller coaster at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Döbeln will be featured in the next EAP issue. ■
