Kingoland Announces New “Tomahawk” Thrill Attraction
(eap) The Kingoland amusement park, which opened in 2014 in the town of Plumelin (Morbihan department, Brittany) in western France, has continuously expanded its offerings in recent years. In the upcoming season, the park’s “Far West”-themed area inaugurated last year will be complemented by a further attraction. It will be called “Tomahawk” and be themed around the battle axe from which it takes its name.
The new addition is a pre-owned installation of the “Super Spin” type from the Italian manufacturer Zamperla, dating back to 2007. The ride features two floorless six-seat gondolas, thus accommodating up to twelve persons per ride cycle. At a height of more than ten metres, the gondolas overturn, temporarily positioning riders upside down. The maximum speed is ten revolutions per minute.
Tomahawk will be accessible to visitors from a height of 1.20 metres when accompanied by an adult, or from 1.40 metres when riding alone. The ride’s opening is scheduled for April. ■
