LEGOLAND California: Galactic Adventures with “G-Force”
(eap) The new “LEGO® Galaxy” themed areas at LEGOLAND California Resort and LEGOLAND Florida Resort have been delighting visitors with exciting new experiences since their opening in early March. While both locations feature a new indoor family roller coaster – each named “Galacticoaster” – as the anchor attraction, additional rides also promise “galactic” adventures for younger guests and their companions.
The flat ride “G-Force” at the Californian park – an “Airboat” from the German manufacturer HUSS Park Attractions – takes riders on a dynamic flying journey. The LEGO-styled attraction features three hydraulically operated cantilever arms, each carrying a counter-rotating gyro with four gondolas per unit. Each gondola accommodates two passengers, allowing for a total capacity of up to 24 riders at a time.
The gondolas swing freely around a horizontal axis, creating a cycloidal motion with rapid yet smooth changes in height, speed, and direction. Each seat is equipped with an adjustable lap bar. The restraint system is centrally controlled via a ride-inhibit locking mechanism.
More about the new Galaxy-themed worlds and their Galacticoasters will be featured in the upcoming EAP May/June issue. ■
