(eap) Germany’s Meersburg Therme on Lake Constance has been closed since 8 April 2024 due to modernisation works. The facility, which is more than 20 years old, is scheduled to reopen in new splendour soon on 28 May.

Visitors can look forward to an expanded bathing area featuring a new textile sauna, a textile steam bath and two additional retreats – the “Green Lung” and the “Brine Inhalation”. Relaxation zones with lake views are intended to offer space for rest and recovery, while the redesigned sauna section introduces new features such as a bio sauna and a low-temperature sauna. The distinctive pile-dwelling saunas remain a signature attraction of Meersburg Therme. The range of amenities is further enhanced by a room of silence, a sauna lounge with a fireplace, and three new massage rooms. The spa will also offer a culinary update: in a new restaurant with a lakeside terrace, guests will be able to dine while enjoying panoramic views of Lake Constance. Additionally, the spa’s website has been redesigned.

A total of approximately 11.2 million euros is being invested in the extensive refurbishment. The main contractors and project partners are neusch architekten, engineering firm Hirdina, bgi GmbH (project management) and Schindler Parent (communications). The client and owner of the thermal spa is the municipality of Meersburg. ■
