(eap) For some time now, the Papenburg-based Meyer Werft shipyard has been undergoing a restructuring process. In order to consistently continue this course in the coming years and to position the company for a secure future, the management team consisting of Bernd Eikens (CEO of the Meyer Group since 2023) and Ralf Schmitz (the restructuring expert who joined the management team in 2024) has now been expanded by two new members. As of November 1, 2025, Melanie Freytag will join the management board as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), taking over the responsibilities previously held by Ralf Schmitz. Schmitz will henceforth focus entirely on his role as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) within the management team. In addition, Jörg Heidelberg will assume the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) as of January 1, 2026.

Dr. Klaus Richter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, comments: “The expansion of the Management Board is an important step on the path to restructuring the Group. With Melanie Freytag and Jörg Heidelberg, we are gaining two individuals for the Management Board who, with their experience and expertise, will make a decisive contribution to positioning the company for the future and ensuring its competitiveness.” ■
