Movie Park Germany Premieres “Hollywood Christmas” Event Series

(eap) This winter, the event series “Movie Park’s Hollywood Christmas” will make its debut at Movie Park Germany near Bottrop-Kirchhellen, Germany. From December 1, 2023, to January 7, 2024, the park will extend its season on 24 select days, inviting visitors to enjoy a festive, American Christmas program. “A winter event at Movie Park has long been on our guests’ wish list. Now they can immerse themselves in their own Christmas movie with us!” says General Manager Thorsten Backhaus. “We are looking forward to a ‘Big American Christmas’ that will not only be bright and colorful, but above all entertaining. The winter shooting schedule is in place, and behind-the-scenes planning is already underway.”

Park guests can look forward to four Christmas-themed areas. “Hollywood Boulevard” will be transformed into “Christmas Boulevard USA” and, with its numerous fairy lights and colorful decorations, will be reminiscent of a typical American small town in winter. Visitors can watch the Christmas movie classic “The Polar Express” in the “Roxy 4-D Cinema” and the “Christmas Tree Celebration” will take place at the fountain in the park’s entrance area, where the over 15-meter-high Christmas tree will be illuminated every day. In addition, there will be a Christmas-style mapping show in which Santa Claus and other Christmas characters will be projected onto the facades of the “Time Riders” and “The Toymaker” buildings. IMAmotion will be responsible for the media design of the mapping show, while the accompanying music will be provided by IMAscore. At the end of each event day, park guests can look forward to a ten-minute drone show with 100 drones.

As a second “Christmas Scene”, the “Streets of New York” become “Rockefeller Plaza”. Just like the original plaza in New York, visitors will find a 360-square-meter covered ice-skating rink as well as a large Christmas tree and a show stage here. Next to the stage, there will be a small Christmas market. Also, the area for the youngest visitors – the “Nickland” – is getting a Christmas makeover.

In the new “Wild West Christmas” area, visitors can meet Santa Claus in the “Warsteiner Salon” and leave their wish lists with him. Groups of 150-350 people can also hold Christmas parties here, including a catering offer and an exclusive, small Christmas market. In addition, Christian Farla’s “A Magical Christmas Tale”, a show with a mixture of singing, artistry and magic, takes place up to three times a day in “Studio 7”.

These and other festive activities await park guests at Movie Park Germany this winter. ■
