New Climbing Adventure for Visitors at Zoo de Bordeaux Pessac

(eap) With “Les Cîmes de Bordeaux Pessac“, the Zoo de Bordeaux Pessac, located west of Bordeaux, has expanded its visitor offering this summer with a new high-altitude experience. Since July, guests have been able to discover the zoo grounds from a bird’s-eye view: a high-ropes course leads across various climbing elements and platforms at heights of up to 15 meters. A total of 27 climbing stations are spread across three levels. At full capacity, up to 35 guests can climb at the same time.

While the “Tour du Pyla” is designed for children aged six to eleven, the “Tour de l’Himalaya” can be used by guests measuring at least 145 centimeters in height. Around 1.5 hours should be allowed for the entire course, depending on the level of experience and the amount of time guests spend a the individual stations. The offer is aimed particularly at families, children and groups of friends who would like to enjoy a shared outdoor activity.

The climbing facility, which features individually designed theming elements, was supplied by the Bavarian company KristallTurm, which realized its first KristallTurm^® in France with this project. As the high-ropes course was built in the middle of the zoo grounds, the available space was clearly defined and limited. With a footprint of only around 220 square meters, the six-mast climbing tower could nevertheless be well integrated into the zoo’s existing concept, according to the manufacturer. ■
