“With Motorworld Hockenheimring, we are realising one of the most significant projects in the history of our group. For decades, the Hockenheimring has enjoyed international recognition and emotional appeal unlike almost any other location in the world of mobility. This new partnership will create a Home of Mobility that brings together motorsport, retail and events in a unique way. It will be an outstanding meeting place that will provide important new impetus as a business, event and competence centre for premium brands and high-quality services,” explains Andreas Dünkel, founder and chairman of the Motorworld Group.

Jochen Nerpel, Managing Director of Hockenheim-Ring GmbH, adds: “Motorworld represents a milestone in the long-term development of the Hockenheimring. This partnership combines the expertise and networks of two established brands to create a forward-looking offering that will appeal to new target groups. Together, we will develop new experience, event, retail, business and hospitality formats that will bring year-round activity to the Hockenheimring and sustainably strengthen its position as an international destination.”
A key component of the project will be more than 8,000 square metres of retail, showroom and workshop space. These areas will be used to showcase special vehicles and offer automotive accessories, clothing and lifestyle products. The range of services will also include vehicle-related services such as professional car detailing.

The Hockenheimring’s accommodation and dining facilities are also set to be expanded. In addition to the refurbishment of the existing Motodrom Hotel, plans include a new four-star hotel with 159 rooms, including individually designed themed rooms and rooms overlooking the racetrack. A restaurant with seating for more than 200 guests and a coffee bar overlooking the start/finish straight will complement the dining facilities. More than 1,600 square metres of conference and event space are also planned, alongside a multifunctional event hall covering over 1,300 square metres and offering direct views of the racing circuit.

Originally opened as a motorcycle racing circuit in 1932, the Hockenheimring has since established itself not only as a venue for international motorsport events but also as a location for major events such as the “Glücksgefühle” music festival. Its convenient location near the A5 and A6 motorways, along with connections to Frankfurt and Stuttgart airports, provides favourable conditions for attracting additional visitors and target groups to the new Motorworld destination.
The Motorworld Group already operates locations based on similar concepts, including sites in Böblingen near Stuttgart, in Cologne, Munich, Germany, and Mallorca, Spain. Further projects are in the planning or construction stages or are already partially operational, including Motorworld Berlin, Motorworld Zeche Ewald | Ruhr and Motorworld Bulgaria in Sofia. According to the project timeline announced in April this year, construction of Motorworld Hockenheimring is expected to begin in the first half of 2027, with the opening planned before 2030. ■
